Oh Joonsung Drama Concert: Music from Korean Drama Favourites.

Esplanade Concert Hall will never be the same again after the teen invasion caused by Oh Joonsung, the man who brought in Bobby Kim, SHINee onto our home ground. Initially, Esplanade was perceived to be an artsy venue where only classical and jazzy performances are held. However, for the night of Oh Joonsung Drama Concert, I felt as though I was in the Indoor Stadium instead. The stall and circle seats were packed with a massive swarm of teen girls, which I suppose, were all here because of SHINee.

The concert kicked off in a high gear with a catchy number, "Never Say Goodbye", from the original soundtrack (OST) of My Girl. Boy, I was totally blown off by the performance. I must say Oh Joonsung is a living genius. He brought orchestral music to a whole new level with the incorporation of rapping, jazz band and rock band! Everyone present was so immersed in to the groovy tune that they were clapping and cheering loudly with the music!
That was not only it. Right after Bobby Kim's astounding performance for "Live or Die" from Dream, the entire hall was hollering for SHINee. The host didn't even have the chance to introduce them! Though SHINee performed only 2 songs, "Countdown" from Dream, and "Stand By Me" from Boys Over Flowers, they were enough to make the fan girls go wild - all thanks to their unwavering vocals and amazing stage presence. Also, guess what, it was the first time I witnessed waving light sticks and got defeated by the screams in the Esplanade Concert Hall!

However, the night wasn't without letdown, due to the bad behavior on some SHINee fans. As soon as SHINee finished singing their two songs, a swarm of SHINee fans dashed out in the dark to queue for the 30-minute post performance autograph session at the Main Foyer, leaving behind a nearly bare concert hall for Oh Joonsung to round up his entire concert with his series of medleys. Thankfully, the vertean took on the unenviable task with great aplomb.

Despite queuing for over an hour for an autograph at the aftermath, it was all in vain. But it wasn't that bad, because after all, I got to soak myself in a night of good music!
